Now in our 24th year, RA&MCO and its parent company InsPro Corporation have been underwriting professional liability for architects, engineers and construction professionals since 1982.
What are the financial ratings of the carriers used for your program?
RA&MCO utilizes the A.M. Best rated A+ (Superior) carriers of HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. Our admitted company (in most states for our program) is U.S. Specialty Insurance Company and our surplus lines carrier is Houston Casualty Company or in Texas, HCC Specialty Insurance Company.
How can an architectural or engineering firm receive a quote or indication of premium from RA&MCO?
RA&MCO underwrites professional liability insurance by working solely with licensed retail or wholesale insurance brokers throughout the country. We do not write directly so an architectural/engineering firm or a sole proprietor engineer/architect or related professional must have a broker submit an application to RA&MCO. Our applications can be downloaded in PDF format from this website. Please have your broker call us if there are any questions at (800) 684-7475.
What kinds of firms or individuals are eligible for professional liability insurance through RA&MCO?
Engineers, architects, land surveyors, construction managers, environmental consultants, geotechnical engineers, construction related testing labs, contractors and other construction consultants. Generally, if the firm has a professional liability in design or construction, we would like to review the firm and see if we can assist. If the firm has a miscellaneous type professional exposure and does not fit our program, we suggest you contact our related company, Professional Indemnity Agency at www.piaint.com.
Does RA&MCO have any risk management material?
Our website features a library with a variety of risk management articles from experienced defense counsel and insurance professionals, newsletters on current topics and other practical information for professionals involved in design and construction. In addition, all new policyholders will receive a 160 page Contract Reference Guide and a "Ten Commandments of Loss Prevention" booklet.
